GGDA-Atlanta Meeting and Game Jam Prep Jan. 12 at GSU
Atlanta Meetings
The Atlanta site of the Global Game Jam has always been one of the biggest and best in the world, and this year it has grown so big it is splitting into three locations. Dr. Jay O'Toole from Georgia State University has been studying what makes successful game jams and teams, so join us for a peak at the secrets for making this the best jam yet! This is also one of our most MARTA accessible meetings of the year, so we look forward to seeing you there.
"Dr. O’Toole’s Global Game Jam (GGJ) research examines the impact of team configurations and knowledge structures on the individual and team levels of satisfaction, the innovativeness of game prototypes produced during the Global Game Jam, and the likelihood that GGJ teams will go on to organize and start their own businesses. His GGJ research has been presented at the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference and Strategic Management Society’s Annual International Conference. Dr. O’Toole is an Assistant Professor in the Managerial Sciences Department in the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University and is a faculty affiliate of GSU’s Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII). He is also a co-director of the annual SIEGE Investment Conference and has started two businesses of his own in his past."
